In collaboration, we prioritize community-driven approaches to ensure the sustainable management of fisheries, the preservation of ecosystems, and the advancement of global ocean conservation efforts.
Summary job description
The Partner Network team is responsible for identifying, selecting, developing, and maintaining long-term partnerships with civil society and non-governmental organizations worldwide. These collaborations are integral to our strategic approach, equipping community-focused partners with funding, technical expertise, and capacity-building support to drive community-based fisheries management and locally managed marine areas. The team cultivates and oversees strategic partnerships through the identification of prospective organizations, evaluation of their capacity and funding requirements, and the establishment of multi-year support arrangements, while also nurturing collaboration within our global network. Through initiatives focused on peer learning, knowledge sharing, and organizational capacity-building, the team fosters a community of practice dedicated to advancing community-led coastal fisheries reform.
We are currently recruiting a Partnership Coordinator to facilitate the strategic expansion and administration of our Partner Network from our Tanzania hub. The successful candidate will be responsible for cultivating and sustaining robust relationships with partner organizations, assisting in the development of partnerships, and playing a key role in the effective execution of partnership initiatives that advance Blue Ventures’ mission. This position necessitates consistent travel, often to remote coastal communities, alongside coordination with teams spanning multiple time zones. Consequently, strong flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to travel are critical requirements.
We seek a proactive and highly organized relationship builder with proven experience engaging rural communities, small-scale fisheries, and community-driven conservation or development initiatives in Tanzania. The ideal candidate will exhibit a strong aptitude for fostering meaningful partnerships, driving innovation, and delivering results both autonomously and as a collaborative member of a high-performing team.
