H.E. Jackson Engineering Ltd (HEJ), a premier provider of engineering solutions across Malawi’s mining, energy, agriculture, construction, and manufacturing sectors, currently has two openings for TLB Operators (Dump Truck Drivers) at its Rumphi Project Site.
Under a one-year fixed-term contract, successful candidates will be stationed in Rumphi and report to the Earthworks Foreman or Site Manager within the Plant & Machine/Operations department. Their primary responsibility is to safely and efficiently operate a tipper truck for transporting construction materials—such as sand, quarry soil, and debris—while strictly adhering to road safety regulations and company protocols.
Key duties include driving and maneuvering the tipper truck for material deliveries and collections, ensuring safe transport without spillage or damage, conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (checking brakes, tyres, oil, lights, fuel, etc.), and coordinating load and offload operations with site personnel. Additional responsibilities entail maintaining precise records of deliveries, fuel consumption, and mileage, complying with all traffic laws and occupational health and safety standards, promptly reporting accidents, breakdowns, or mechanical faults, and keeping the vehicle clean while ensuring regular servicing. Candidates must also follow supervisor and dispatch team instructions and perform any other assigned tasks as needed.
Applicants must hold a Malawi School Certificate of Education or equivalent qualification, possess a valid Malawian heavy-duty driver’s licence (Class C or G), and demonstrate at least 2–5 years of hands-on experience operating tipper trucks or heavy vehicles, along with a clean driving record free of serious traffic violations.
