As a front-line, on-site leader, the Truck Driver represents the company in the field, ensures compliance with all safety and traffic regulations, and plays a critical role in maintaining smooth day-to-day haulage operations. The role reports directly to the General Manager and requires sound judgment, reliability, and strong knowledge of local routes and heavy vehicle operation. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Serve as an on-site leader by setting a strong example of safety, punctuality, discipline, and professionalism for other drivers and site personnel. Operate company trucks to load, transport, and deliver crushed stone, aggregate, sand, and other materials to designated sites and customers in a safe and timely manner. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including brakes, tires, fluid levels, lights, and load security, and report any mechanical issues promptly. Plan and follow the most efficient and safe routes, accounting for road conditions, traffic, weather, and delivery schedules. Ensure loads are properly secured and within legal weight and safety limits before departure. Maintain accurate trip records, including delivery tickets, fuel logs, mileage, load manifests, and any incident reports. Coordinate with the Plant Manager/Crushing Supervisor, dispatch, and site personnel to schedule pick-ups and deliveries efficiently. Comply with all Liberian traffic laws, company driving policies, and site-specific safety procedures at all times. Assist with basic loading and unloading duties as needed, working closely with the front-end loader operator and quarry crew. Report any accidents, near-misses, mechanical faults, or safety hazards to the General Manager immediately. Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance checks on the assigned vehicle to keep it in good working condition. Support fellow drivers and junior staff by mentoring safe driving practices and proper vehicle handling. Carry out any other duties as reasonably assigned by the General Manager. QUALIFICATIONS &
EXPERIENCE
Valid Liberian commercial/heavy-duty driver’s license, in good standing. 2 – 5 years of proven experience driving trucks or heavy commercial vehicles, preferably in quarrying, construction, logistics, or haulage operations. Solid working knowledge of local roads, routes, and driving conditions within Margibi County and surrounding areas. Basic literacy and numeracy sufficient to complete trip logs, delivery tickets, and fuel records. Demonstrated understanding of vehicle safety checks and basic troubleshooting. Clean driving record with no history of serious traffic violations. SKILLS & KEY ATTRIBUTES Strong leadership qualities and the ability to act responsibly as an on-site representative of the company. Excellent knowledge of defensive driving techniques and road safety practices. High level of reliability, punctuality, and personal accountability. Good communication skills for coordinating with supervisors, dispatch, and site teams. Physical fitness and stamina to manage long hours and physically demanding site conditions. Honesty and integrity in handling company property, fuel, and cargo. Ability to remain calm and exercise good judgment in emergency or high-pressure situations. WORKING CONDITIONS Based on-site at the Edrine Rock Crusher Inc. quarry in Zarzone Town, District 1, Margibi County, with frequent travel to delivery and project locations. Exposure to outdoor conditions, dust, noise, and heavy equipment typical of a quarry and haulage environment. May require early morning, evening, or occasional weekend work to meet delivery schedules. Adherence to all site safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
