Particulièrement engagée dans la lutte contre les maladies liées à l’eau insalubre, première cause de mortalité dans le monde, SI intervient avec son expertise en matière d’accès à l’eau potable, d’assainissement et de promotion de l’hygiène, mais aussi dans le domaine essentiel de la sécurité alimentaire et des moyens de subsistance. Présentes dans une vingtaine de pays, les équipes de SI – 2 500 personnes au total, composées d’expatriés, de personnel local, de personnel permanent du siège et de quelques volontaires – interviennent avec professionnalisme et engagement, dans le respect des normes culturelles.
