Job overview

The NGO COMI (Cooperation for the Developing World) implements the SAFE project (Food Security, Sector and Eco-resilience) in the Kaffrine region, funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS). The initiative aims to strengthen food security, combat child malnutrition and improve the incomes of small producers and herders in the area through the strengthening of sustainable sectors (milk, market gardening). Missions and responsibilities Under the direct supervision and in coordination with the Project Manager, Senior Rural Facilitator and project partners, the incumbent of the position will be responsible for: Transversally In collaboration with ISF-MI, he/she participates in the development and monitoring of the following activities:

• Activity 2.1 Optimization and revitalization of the Pakala Centre as a centre of excellence for production, marketing and support to food producers and rural development actors.
• Activity 2.2 Granting of funds and technical support for the growth of existing companies or the development of businesses in the food sector and rural agricultural sectors. Specifically
• He/she participates in the promotion, evaluation and monitoring of business idea competitions organized by ISF-MI for the benefit of young people and women in the Bao Bolong Valley, with particular attention to initiatives related to rural development and the valorization of local resources.

Education / Qualifications

• He/she coordinates the various coaching courses designed by ISF-MI, in collaboration with other experts who participate in the training and support of young entrepreneurs, especially in the agricultural and rural sectors.
• He/she trains young entrepreneurs in the economic, accounting and management fields, taking into account the specificities of income-generating activities in rural areas (agricultural AGR, processing, marketing of local products).
• He/she participates in the relaunch of the Pakala Centre as a centre of excellence for production, marketing and support to food producers and rural stakeholders.

Candidate profile

Experience

• Holder of a Bac +3 or higher level in Economics and Management, Business Management, Finance and Accounting, Commerce, Rural Development, Agribusiness or related discipline or holder of a BTS/DUT in Finance-Accounting or Management, supplemented by relevant professional experience or whose professional experience of at least 5 years in relevant fields constitutes an equivalent qualification.
• Proof of professional experience of at least 3 years in the creation of a business, in the implementation of AGR, in rural or agricultural development, or in professional integration through self-employment;
• Perfectly mastering corporate accounting (newspaper, ledger, balance sheet, income statement, cash flow plan);

Other information

• Good knowledge of the main IT tools (email, video conferencing applications, Microsoft Office software, including Excel);
• Fluent in French and Wolof;
• Flexible, with a good sense of listening and strong relational and analytical skills;
• Availability to move regularly in the villages of Bao Bolong Valley where the project is developing, especially in rural areas of intervention.
