Project Manager

Company: Mogo Finance

Contract Type: Full Time

Qualification: BA/BSc/HND

Experience: 3 - 5 years

Location: Kenya

About the Role:

We are looking for a Project Manager to drive ad-hoc projects within our operational and IT functions in Kenya. This is a broad, hands-on delivery role: you will lead projects of all sizes, from idea to completion – from analyzing a single process with our data analysts, to creating practical tools for field teams, to coordinating the rollout of larger IT initiatives across branches and agents. You will work closely with operations, IT, commercial teams, and the broader product team, acting as the person who keeps projects organized, on track, and delivered. This role reports to the Product Owner.

Responsibilities:

Process Analysis and Insights:

Work with data analysts to review processes and performance in areas such as sales data and customer app usage, turning findings into clear, actionable insights.

Map how processes currently work, identify bottlenecks or gaps, and propose practical improvements.

Define the data and reports needed, and coordinate with analysts to ensure the right metrics are tracked.

Present findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders in operations, IT, and management.

Ad-hoc Operational Projects:

Lead a varied pipeline of ad-hoc projects requested by different teams, scoping each one and driving it to delivery.

Create practical tools – such as Excel spreadsheets, dashboards, and templates – that help teams manage and track their work.

Design and deploy new or improved processes, and ensure they are documented and adopted by relevant teams.

Coordinate the people involved, set deadlines, track progress, and keep everyone aligned until completion.

IT Project Delivery:

Plan and coordinate the rollout of larger IT projects, including preparing launch plans, timelines, and deployment milestones.

Organize and execute pre-launch testing – coordinate testers, document issues, and ensure they are resolved.

Plan and deliver training to branches and agents, and support adoption during and after deployment.

Work with internal IT teams and external vendors to align on requirements, timelines, and acceptance criteria.

Monitor projects post-launch, hand over operational processes to relevant teams, and capture lessons learned.

For All Projects:

Manage end-to-end delivery – define the scope

  • •Never pay any amount of money — for a file, a training, a uniform, or an interview. A real employer never asks the candidate to pay.
  • •Never send a photo of your ID card, passport, or banking details before you have physically verified the employer exists.
  • •Always meet in a public place, during the day — never an isolated address, a private home, or a location you cannot verify in advance.
  • •Tell a relative or friend exactly where you are going, with whom, and at what time — and share your live location if possible.
  • •Search the company name online before going: a real business has a trace (website, reviews, other employees, an official address).
  • •A salary that is far above the market rate for the position and the city is a red flag — be extra cautious.
