Institution Background: Wote Technical Training Institute was established in 1990 as a skills training center by Voluntary Service Overseas, offering short courses to youth polytechnic instructors and Jua Kali artisans. A multi-purpose hall and two staff houses were built. Eight years ago, JICA donated 4 million, which was used to construct two dormitories and a masonry water tank.

Responsibilities:
Develop lesson plans and design the curriculum to cover all aspects of the driving course. Teach students the operation of motor vehicles, traffic rules, and safe driving practices to impart driving skills. Conduct practical on-road driving lessons to practice lessons learned in the classroom. Monitor student driving, provide guidance and assistance as needed to help them develop their driving skills. Instruct students on basic vehicle operation, defensive driving techniques, and minor vehicle maintenance. Evaluate students' classroom work and driving abilities to provide a basis for recommending the issuance of driving licenses to qualified students. Any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Candidate Profile:
To be appointed to this grade, the candidate must:
Be a Kenyan citizen. Hold a valid driving license for vehicle classes A, B, C, and E. Be computer literate. Be proficient in NTSA laws and regulations. Hold a driving instructor certificate issued by NTSA. Have knowledge of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Hold a certificate of good conduct. Have five (5) years of relevant professional experience. Hold a PSV Heavy Commercial license.
