Job Context
This position ensures the purity of temple ordinances, their accurate recording, and their accessibility to worthy Church members by providing an environment where participants can have a positive and uplifting experience each time they visit the temple. It helps maintain and operate temples according to the standards established by the First Presidency. It assists in the overall operations and maintenance of the temple's physical facilities, and operates, maintains, and repairs mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems and equipment assigned by the temple facilities manager.
Responsibilities
Ensure that all heating and air conditioning computerized equipment and controls operate with maximum efficiency.
Maintain complex water treatment equipment for boilers, culinary water system, and cooling towers, and perform water treatment tests to maintain appropriate pH, hardness, and conductivity levels.
Maintain and repair laundry equipment.
Maintain and repair all kitchen systems, i.e., dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, ice machine, bread mixer, etc., to ensure optimal operation.
Maintain the baptismal font water filtration and purification system, water supply, mixing valves, etc., to maintain necessary levels of pH control and chlorine content of the water in accordance with local codes.
Maintain the electrical system, including: three-phase high-voltage industrial wiring, conventional and electronic motor control systems, lighting system maintenance and repair including 110, 277 volts and 24-volt three-phase lighting.
Clean, maintain, and repair electronic systems, including the computerized temple recording system, adjust and repair TV terminals, printers, all cable lines, and power supplies.
Maintain and adjust all projection, sound, and communication systems.
Make necessary modifications to any mechanical or electrical system in the temple as needed.
Participate in the preparation of the annual facilities budget, submission of timesheets, and administration of FMAT projects.
Desired Profile
Completion of 2 years of technical training in a specialized trade plus 4 years of experience in that trade.
2 years of experience in physical facilities operations, including experience in specialized trades: electricity, electronics, plumbing, welding, carpentry, painting, general construction, blueprint reading, mechanics, and flooring.
