Site Engineer Civil Engineering Bilingue

UMO Benin is looking for one of its customers, a major player in the port logistics sector located in the free zone of the Port of Benin. Cotonou, a Bilingual Civil Engineering Site Engineer. Reporting to the Project Manager, the incumbent provides technical and operational supervision of the civil engineering works of the ALZ project. He/she ensures the proper execution of work in accordance with plans, technical specifications, quality requirements, deadlines and HSE standards, while ensuring the coordination of companies operating on site in an international environment.

Main duties

Oversee and control the execution of civil engineering works on site (foundations, concrete structures, industrial paving, support works, roads, networks and associated works). Verify the compliance of the work performed with applicable implementation plans, CCTP, technical specifications and standards. Ensure the daily coordination of construction companies, subcontractors and various technical stakeholders present on the site. Monitor the progress of work in relation to the defined quality objectives, costs and deadlines and report any deviations to the Project Manager. Carry out quantitative measurements and monitor attachments in relation to the companies involved. Participate in weekly site meetings, write technical reports and follow up on associated actions. Identify non-conformities, monitor corrective actions and ensure the lifting of reservations. Control the quality of materials, equipment and supplies delivered on site in accordance with the technical requirements of the project. Ensure compliance with HSE rules on construction sites in coordination with the HSE & Compliance Manager.

Education / Qualifications

Prepare progress reports, technical reports and feedback to the Project Manager. Participate in intermediate and final technical receptions of the works. Ensure technical exchanges with project teams, partners and international stakeholders in French and English.

Candidate profile

Bac +3 to Bac +5 in Civil Engineering, Public Works or equivalent field.

Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in the supervision of civil engineering works on industrial, port or large infrastructure projects. Proven experience in the operational monitoring of construction sites, the coordination of construction companies and the control of conformity of the work carried out. Good command of the reading and interpretation of execution plans, CCTP and site technical documents. Mastery of metrics, quantitative, attachments and tools for monitoring work. Good knowledge of construction standards and practices applicable in Benin (DTU, UEMOA or equivalent). Mastery of CAD/CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit or equivalent). Experience in port environment, free zone or major international projects is a major asset. Field profile, rigorous, autonomous and able to manage the operational constraints of a demanding construction site. Strong analytical skills, a sense of organization and the ability to work with various interlocutors. Essential current French and English, with the ability to exchange on technical topics in writing as well as oral.
