The role requires a strong understanding of corporate and commercial law, particularly within the financial services sector. Min Qualification: Degree Experience Level: Mid level Experience Length: 2 years Language Requirement: English Working Hours: Full Time - 9 to 5 Applicant Location: Ghana Job descriptions & requirements Key Responsibilities General Legal Services Review the organization’s standard forms and documentation to ensure completeness and to simplify, where possible Continuously examine and appraise legal systems and procedures that may impact on the organization’s performance. Provide legal advice as necessary on all issues related to the business and their proper administration. Review and prepare all legal instruments. Review and draft agreements, bonds, guarantees and such other documents relevant to the business. Facilitate the authentication of title documents and other documents prior to disbursement of facilities or other customer requests. Legal representation before judicial and quasi-judicial bodies. Act as liaison between the Legal Department and the respective departments Undertake legal research and analysis; prepare legal opinions, reports, and correspondence Liaise with external solicitors, regulators and other external parties as required and advise the business on related issues. Prepare periodic reports on the status of work within the Legal Department to the Executive Director. Training of staff on basic legal and policy compliance matters and provide guidance and advice to the business on their responsibility for complying with all relevant laws, regulations, and business policies. Act for the Compliance Manager in his/her absence or support in implementing controls to ensure the organization’s compliance with various regulations and laid down policies. Contribute ideas around Business Development Strategy Any other assignment given by Management Corporate Governance Provide support for the efficient and effective execution of the day to day administrative, operational, and logistical duties related to the function. Provide support on corporate governance issues, including but not limited to company secretarial duties and all related matters, statutory compliance with regulations (annual returns, applications, and other statutory forms) and statutes in forces. Filling of statutory returns and other relevant documents at the Registrar General Department Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana Investment Promotion Center, and such other relevant bodies Management of documentation by creating and maintaining up to date document folders and electronic databases and ensure chronological and accurate filing to ensure consistency between the hard copy folders and the electronic database. Any other related support as requested by Management Qualification and Experience Barrister/Solicitor of the Superior Court of Ghana with at least 2 to 3 years at the Bar LLB or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution is required Master’s degree (LLM) is an added advantage Experience in Board Secretarial work with a recognized institution will be ana advantage Must be a member of the Ghana Bar Association of good standing Must be conversant with all statutory, regulatory, and supervisory requirements and impact on the operations of the Organization Strong knowledge of corporate, commercial, and financial law Experience working with regulators (e.g. SEC, Bank of Ghana) Ability to identify sensitive issues and facilitate communications in a proactive manner to avoid surprise Salary: Attractive Location: Accra Log In and Apply Important safety tips Do not make any payment without confirming with the Jobberman Customer Support Team.
