The ideal candidate would be responsible for ensuring that workplace environments comply with health and safety regulations, minimizing risks, and promoting a culture of safety. Principales Taches : Risk Assessment and Management: Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards. Implement and monitor control measures to mitigate risks. Regularly review and update risk assessments based on changing conditions. Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, national, and international health and safety regulations. Develop and implement workplace safety policies and procedures. Prepare for and manage audits or inspections by regulatory authorities. Training and Awareness: Deliver health and safety training to employees, contractors, and management. Promote awareness of safety practices through workshops, bulletins, or signage. Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine causes. Document findings and recommend measures to prevent recurrence. Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans, such as fire drills or evacuation procedures. Ensure first aid equipment and emergency systems are in place and functioning. Monitoring and Reporting: Conduct regular workplace inspections and safety audits. Maintain records of incidents, safety measures, and compliance reports. Report on health and safety performance to management. Advisory Role: Act as an advisor to management on health and safety matters. Liaise with external agencies, such as occupational health specialists or legal bodies.
Formation / Diplômes
Min. bachelor’s degree in social sciences or engineering A degree or certification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Expérience
Min. 5yrs work experience Bilingual – French & English [working knowledge proficiency] Previous work experience in a manufacturing or industrial unit. Savoir Faire Requis : Knowledge of Regulations: Familiarity with OSHA, HSE, or equivalent safety standards.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication for training and reporting. Attention to Detail: The ability to identify potential hazards and document findings.
