L’International Rescue Committee (IRC) est une organisation non gouvernementale internationale. Elle a été fondée en 1933, à l’initiative du célèbre physicien Albert Einstein. Aujourd’hui, l’IRC est l’un des leaders mondiaux en matière de secours, de réhabilitation, de protection, de développement post-conflit, de réinsertion et de plaidoyer pour les personnes affectées par les crises. La mission de l’IRC est d’aider les personnes dont les vies et les moyens de subsistance sont détruits par les conflits et les catastrophes à survivre, se relever et prendre en main leur avenir. L’IRC est actif en République centrafricaine depuis fin 2006. Il dispose d’un bureau principal à Bangui, d’une base à Bocaranga (Ouham-Pendé), d’une base à Kaga-Bandoro (Nana-Gribizi), Ndele (Bamingui Bangora) et fait partie du Hub Humanitaire de Zémio dans le Haut Mbomou (Zemio). Le programme ERD est opérationnel dans les zones de l’Ouham Pende, Bangui et Nana-Gribizi et compte étendre les activités dans la zone du Haut Mbomou et toutes les autres zones jugées pertinentes par le programme pays. En 2015, l’IRC a élaboré une nouvelle stratégie au niveau global pour la période 2015-2020.
