Expert Application Advice
What this role involves
You will support a multi-sectoral team addressing health threats at the human-animal-environment interface. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating field surveillance, analyzing outbreak data, and facilitating community engagement across Nigerian states. Expect frequent travel to rural and peri-urban sites to train local health workers and collect samples.
Key skills to highlight
Demonstrate experience in epidemiology, zoonotic disease control, or public health surveillance in Nigeria. Strong candidates also show proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SPSS, or R), report writing, and stakeholder coordination with government agencies or NGOs. Fluency in Hausa, Yoruba, or Igbo is a distinct advantage.
Taf4All CV tip
List one specific project where you linked human, animal, or environmental health outcomes—e.g., “Led a rabies vaccination campaign in Kano that reduced human bite cases by 30%.” Avoid generic duties; use numbers to show impact.
Before you apply
OHRI will never ask for payment for applications or interviews. Verify the recruiter’s email domain (e.g., @ohri.org.ng) and cross-check the vacancy on HotNigerianJobs or the official OHRI website. Report suspicious requests to the Nigerian Police.
🎯 Make your application ATS-ready

- •Never pay any amount of money — for a file, a training, a uniform, or an interview. A real employer never asks the candidate to pay.
- •Never send a photo of your ID card, passport, or banking details before you have physically verified the employer exists.
- •Always meet in a public place, during the day — never an isolated address, a private home, or a location you cannot verify in advance.
- •Tell a relative or friend exactly where you are going, with whom, and at what time — and share your live location if possible.
- •Search the company name online before going: a real business has a trace (website, reviews, other employees, an official address).
- •A salary that is far above the market rate for the position and the city is a red flag — be extra cautious.
