Expert Application Advice
What this role involves
You will lead the design of a strategy to embed the TRANSFORM social protection approach into national systems in Zambia. Day-to-day, this means facilitating stakeholder workshops, drafting policy documents, and coordinating with government ministries, UN agencies, and civil society to ensure the strategy is owned locally and sustainable beyond the project cycle.
Key skills to highlight
Proven experience in institutional capacity building and policy development within African social protection systems. Strong analytical ability to assess political economy and stakeholder dynamics, plus facilitation skills for multi-sectoral groups. Familiarity with donor frameworks (e.g., ILO, UNICEF) and results-based management is a major plus.
Taf4All CV tip
Lead with a 3-line “Strategic Summary” that names TRANSFORM and Zambia’s social protection context. Then, under each role, use bullet points that explicitly show how you influenced system change (e.g., “co-designed a national cash transfer protocol adopted by Ministry of Community Development”). Avoid generic duties.
Before you apply
This is a genuine ILO call, but always verify via the official ILO Zambia website or LinkedIn page. Never pay any fee to apply or to “secure” the role – fraudulent ads sometimes target African professionals. If in doubt, contact ILO Lusaka directly.

- •Never pay any amount of money — for a file, a training, a uniform, or an interview. A real employer never asks the candidate to pay.
- •Never send a photo of your ID card, passport, or banking details before you have physically verified the employer exists.
- •Always meet in a public place, during the day — never an isolated address, a private home, or a location you cannot verify in advance.
- •Tell a relative or friend exactly where you are going, with whom, and at what time — and share your live location if possible.
- •Search the company name online before going: a real business has a trace (website, reviews, other employees, an official address).
- •A salary that is far above the market rate for the position and the city is a red flag — be extra cautious.
