Fluency in English and intermediate knowledge of a second UN language
Experience in implementing supply chain improvement initiatives
Experience supervising staff

TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR SHORT-TERM/CONSULTANCY CONTRACTS
JOB TITLE: Supply Chain Officer TYPE OF CONTRACT: Consultancy UNIT/DIVISION: Supply Chain DUTY STATION (City, Country): Accra, Ghana DURATION: 11 months (renewable)
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
The Supply Chain Officer, who also serves as the Head of Unit, will lead on or provide technical advice and oversight to procurement field operations of moderate complexity including Cash Based Transfers (CBT) operations, partnering with the key supply chain functions to ensure an integrated supply chain approach to meeting the food assistance needs of beneficiaries and coordinate technical assistance to government initiatives, supply chain partners' capacity strengthening including the host government.

EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED:**
Education: Advanced University degree in Economics, Commerce, Business Administration, Engineering, Legal or Accounting or other relevant field, or First University degree with additional years of related work experience and/or training/courses. Experience: .Minimum of 5 or more years of progressive relevant work experience. .Experience communicating and coordinating with UN agencies/ large in ternational conglomerates.
Experience working with food commodity markets (incl. experience with freight markets) as well as goods and services needed in support of WFP’s Operations and its related market intelligence.
Experience working with vendors.
Has experience with budgeting, pipelines and related issues in WFP Corporate Systems Knowledge & Skills: Experience working with WFP partners;
Experience in implementing supply chain improvement initiatives
Experience supervising staff Languages: Fluency (level C) in English language. Intermediate knowledge (level B) of a second official UN language: Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish, and/or Portuguese (a WFP working language).
