Job Description
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Responsible for directing, coordinating purchasing, warehousing, distribution, and financial forecasting services or activities to limit costs and improve accuracy and safety. To also provide logistics support for in-country operations including the supply chain, asset management and liaising with all departments for logistics & directing the movement, storage, or processing of inventory to raise the efficiency of the department and increase their cost-effectiveness.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Review or update supply chain practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws
Assess appropriate material handling equipment needs and staffing levels to load, unload, move, or store materials
Negotiate good prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, or freight forwarders.
Develops appropriate supply chain strategy to maximize customer satisfaction at the lowest possible cost.
Ensures the timely delivery and supply of products at the lowest possible cost:
Monitor supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.
Implement new or improved supply chain processes.
Monitors and corrects inventory levels at outside warehouses (3PL) and internally to ensure rotation and maximize working capital.
Document physical supply chain processes, such as workflows, cycle times, position responsibilities, or system flows.
Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, or optimize customer service.
Identify opportunities to reuse or recycle materials to minimize consumption of new materials, minimize waste, or to convert wastes to by-products
Provide operational support and guidance to ensure maximum productivity.
Collaborate with other departments to identify vulnerabilities and close operational gaps
Prepare and submit weekly reports.
Create supply chain management strategies that increase efficiency and speed.
Handle communications with external suppliers.
Focus on safety, cost management and business growth in all interactions and directives
Handle all importation needs, ordering and timely delivery.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To implement and develop operational guidelines, policies in liaison with other units
To make weekly network reports.
To handle any other company work related duties as assigned by the Manager and NOC.
Carry out assigned tasks and duties in a safe manner, in accordance with instructions, and to comply with safety rules/procedures, regulations and codes of practice.
If aware of any unsafe practice or condition, or if in any doubt about the safety of any situation, consult their supervisor.
Obtain and use the correct tools/equipment for the work and not to use any that are unsafe or damaged. All tools, equipment and personal protective equipment must be stored in the approved place after use.
Ensure that all guards are securely fixed and that all safety equipment and personal protective clothing/equipment provided are used.
Not to operate any plant or equipment unless authorised.
To report any accident, near-miss, dangerous occurrence or dangerous condition to their line management.
To switch off and secure unattended plant or equipment.
To avoid improvised arrangements and suggest safe ways of eliminating hazards.
Not to participate in horseplay or place fellow employees in danger by their actions
Conduct thorough risk assessments within their respective zones or areas of responsibility.
Ensure compliance with Company Lifesaving rules (LSR) and other safety protocols on the ground.
Provide leadership and guidance to field technicians, ensuring they adhere to safety guidelines and best practices.
Monitor and assess safety performance in the field, identifying potential hazards and implementing control measures.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement safety initiatives and improve safety culture in the field.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify compliance with safety standards and LSR.
Provide timely feedback and coaching to field technicians to improve their safety awareness and performance.
Enforce compliance with company Lifesaving rules and safety protocols on the ground.
Allocate resources and prioritize safety initiatives within their zones.
Conduct inspections and audits to verify compliance and identify corrective actions.
Apply the stop work authority in case of non-compliance with the Company Lifesaving rules
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee all jobs linked to supply chain to ensure they are carried out effectively.
Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
Encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
Train and mentor Supply Chain Management employees.
GENERAL DUTIES

Reduction in incidents and accidents within the department.
Timely resolution of safety-related issues.
Reduction in environmental impact through resource conservation and waste reduction (when relevant).
Adoption of renewable energy sources and green technologies where applicable (when relevant).
Departmental performance indicators aligned with safety and sustainability goals.
Required Skills or Experience
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATION
A Degree or Masters in Supply Chain Management or related field
An equivalent combination of training and experience
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 5 to 6 years’ relevant experience in a similar position
Experience in inventory/stock/supplies management.
Experience with ERP programs
Familiarity with safety and procedural best practices in Supply Chain Management
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
Knowledge of principles and methods for moving people or goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits.
Good Knowledge of country wise sites installations.
Knowledge of market and vendors
Knowledge of cost control.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suit and other procurement management software.
Ability to lead, train and mentor employees on a personal level
