Quality Assurance Manager

We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance (QA) Manager to lead and oversee the food safety and quality assurance functions at our Ivory Coast plant. This role is critical in ensuring full compliance with local regulatory requirements, international standards, and customer expectations. The QA Manager will play a key role in setting up, strengthening, and sustaining quality systems while driving continuous improvement in product quality, team capability, and operational efficiency.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance & Control

Establish, implement, and maintain robust quality assurance and food safety systems for the plant. Ensure all products consistently meet customer specifications and internal quality standards. Ensure compliance with local regulations as well as international food safety standards (e.g. GMP, HACCP, FSSC 22000). Oversee laboratory operations, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and integrity of test results. Supervise quality control processes covering raw materials, in-process checks, and final product release. Develop, review, and enforce quality standards, procedures, and specifications. Promote a strong food safety culture across all functions and levels within the plant.

Operational Setup & Continuous Improvement

Support the establishment and stabilization of QA processes for a growing plant operation. Identify gaps and drive continuous improvement initiatives in product quality, food safety, and operational efficiency. Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for quality-related issues.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

Lead, coach, and develop the QA team to build strong technical and leadership capabilities. Work closely with Production, Supply Chain, and other departments to ensure alignment on quality objectives. Act as the key liaison with external stakeholders including regulatory authorities, auditors, and customers. Support regional alignment with Group QA standards and initiatives.

Compliance & Systems Integrity

Ensure all Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS) and certifications are effectively implemented and maintained. Lead internal, external, and certification audits, ensuring audit readiness at all times. Stay updated on regulatory changes and proactively drive compliance initiatives.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, or a related discipline. Minimum 8 years of experience in Quality Assurance, with at least 5 years in a managerial role. Strong experience in food manufacturing or processing environment. Hands-on experience in setting up or managing QA systems in a plant environment is highly preferred. Solid knowledge of GMP, HACCP, FSSC 22000, and other relevant food safety standards. Experience in managing regulatory and third-party audits. Strong leadership and team management skills. Good analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities. Good communication skills in English and French.
