Read more about this company Area Sales Manager Job Type Full Time Qualification BA/BSc/HND Experience 4 - 4 years Location Sokoto Job Field Sales and Business Development   Job Summary The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for driving retail sales growth and ensuring effective product availability across all assigned territories. This role focuses on managing distributors, wholesalers, retailers, and field sales teams to expand market penetration, improve route-to-market execution, strengthen retail visibility, and increase sales volumes for diapers, sanitary pads, baby wipes, and underlay products. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute retail distribution strategies to ensure strong market coverage. Manage distributors and key wholesalers to ensure effective stock movement. Ensure full availability of all SKUs across retail outlets within assigned regions. Monitor distributor performance, compliance, and service delivery standards. Expand distribution footprint by appointing new distributors and sub-distributors where required. Drive volume growth and revenue targets across diapers, pads, wipes, and underlay categories. Identify growth opportunities in underserved markets and build new retail channels. Develop and execute go-to-market plans for new product launches. Ensure effective penetration into modern trade, pharmacies, supermarkets, and open markets. Coordinate retail activations, market storms, and product sampling campaigns. Implement pricing and promotional strategies to support sales growth. Monitor competitor activity and recommend counter-strategies. Set sales targets and monitor daily/weekly/monthly performance. Conduct coaching, field visits, joint calls, and performance reviews. Ensure effective route planning and outlet coverage discipline. Forecast sales demand and coordinate supply planning with production and logistics teams. Requirements / Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related discipline. Minimum of 4 – 7 years experience in FMCG sales and distribution. Strong experience in personal care, hygiene, baby care, or household consumer goods is required. Proven experience managing distributors and retail channel operations.
