Thrive People & Strategy is recruiting on behalf a earthmoving, logistical and transport operator based in Phalaborwa, Limpopo. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Workshop Supervisor to oversee and coordinate all workshop activities related to the maintenance, repair, and servicing of heavy earthmoving equipment. The successful candidate will ensure equipment is maintained to the highest standards of safety, quality, and reliability while minimizing downtime and controlling costs. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership ability, and a structured approach to planning, administration, and compliance. The Workshop Supervisor reports directly to the Workshop Manager. This role is primarily workshop-based but will require travel to construction or mining sites when necessary Key Responsibilities: Workshop Operations & Planning Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily workshop activities. Allocate tasks and manage maintenance teams to optimize productivity. Oversee breakdowns, inspections, servicing, and scheduled maintenance. Coordinate field repairs for equipment on site. Ensure accurate parts control and return of unused stock. Leadership & Team Management Lead, mentor, and develop technicians, artisans, apprentices, and assistants. Conduct performance evaluations and support staff development. Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive working culture.

Manage contractors in line with company standards and safety requirements. Technical Oversight Provide technical guidance and support for diagnostics and repairs. Ensure compliance with OEM procedures and manufacturer specifications. Oversee maintenance of equipment including but not limited to: Excavators, Bulldozers, Front end Loaders, Graders, ADTs o Loaders Health, Safety & Compliance Maintain compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality standards. Enforce SOPs and legal requirements. Identify risks, create and or update procedures where necessary. Promote a safe and compliant working environment at all times. Administration & Cost Control Ensure accurate job cards, service reports, and maintenance records. Monitor workshop productivity and performance. Assist with cost control, stock monitoring, and procurement planning. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or quality. Minimum Requirement s Qualifications & Experience: o Trade qualification in Diesel Mechanics (or related field). o Proven experience in maintaining and repairing heavy earthmoving equipment. o Minimum 3 years’ supervisory experience. Technical Knowledge: o Hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems. o OEM maintenance and repair standards. o Safety, health, and environmental regulations. o Workshop administration and reporting systems Core Competencies:

o Strong leadership and communication skills. o Excellent planning and organizational ability. o Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. o Computer literate (maintenance management systems advantageous).
