Procurement and Logistics Coordinator – Bangui, Central African Republic
DanChurchAid (DCA) is seeking a highly experienced Procurement and Logistics Coordinator to lead and support the implementation of its activities in the Central African Republic. DCA has been present in CAR since 2015, providing humanitarian assistance to vulnerable communities in conflict and post-conflict settings through its “Safer Communities” programme. This includes risk education on Small Arms and Light Weapons (SALW) and Explosive Remnants of War (ERW), armed violence reduction and peacebuilding, psychosocial support, distribution of non-food items, cash assistance, distribution of seeds and tools, and support to civil society organizations.
Role Overview
Under the supervision of the Head of Finance and Support Services, the Procurement and Logistics Coordinator ensures the full range of logistical and procurement support required for DCA’s operations in CAR. This includes procurement and supply chain management, fleet and asset management, and stock control. The Coordinator provides continuous support to field bases, ensuring they have the necessary resources, tools, and procedures to operate effectively in line with organizational and donor requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Staff Management
Supervise base and coordination logisticians, ensuring they receive regular briefings and have the necessary tools and resources.
Set individual performance objectives, strengthen staff capacities, and conduct evaluations based on defined deliverables.Procurement and Supply Chain Management
Conduct regular analyses of the procurement and supply environment for goods and services at field bases and in Bangui.
Ensure compliance with DCA’s Operations Manual and donor requirements.
Maintain a procurement and supply plan aligned with activity schedules and contextual constraints.
Supervise the preparation of complete procurement files, including contracts and purchase orders.
Ensure supplier selection and contract awards adhere to organizational policies.Fleet, Equipment, Assets, and Services Management
Plan and execute maintenance and repair operations for vehicles, equipment, and assets.
Establish and maintain a movement schedule for the fleet.
Verify logbook completion and monitor fuel consumption for vehicles, motorcycles, and generators.Asset, IT Equipment, and Stock Management
Ensure real-time updates of the asset register and proper tracking of all equipment.
Maintain IT equipment and ensure appropriate use.
Implement a stock management plan across all offices and validate storage security.
Supervise monthly physical inventories of stocks and equipment.Office Management
Conduct asset inventories and condition reports upon signing lease agreements.
Supervise the setup and rehabilitation of rented premises.Profile
The ideal candidate is proactive, solution-driven, and service-oriented. He/she identifies logistical solutions, anticipates needs, resolves bottlenecks, and facilitates operational implementation for programme, finance, HR, and security teams. He/she is capable of basic repairs and provides technical guidance to optimize equipment use and lifespan. The Coordinator also strengthens the capacities of supervised staff and implementing partners to ensure professional and compliant logistics management.
