GICHD is establishing a new office in Amman and is seeking an Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) and Conflict Preparedness and Protection (CPP) Advisor to support its activities across the MENA region. The position is offered for an initial one-year national contract, with the possibility of extension. Job purpose Implement and monitor Information Management support activities to National Mine Action Authorities in line with GICHD's strategy. Provide technical assistance including on assessments, systems/tools, trainings/workshops, research/ publications. The primary focus of this role is to support GICHD activities in the MENA region; however, the scope may extend to other regions as required. Key responsibilities 1. Advise partners on information management, understanding their needs, priorities, challenges, and supporting them in developing, implementing and maintaining information management tools, and standards. 2. Contribute to the development of information management activities as assigned by line manager. 3. Plan and deliver IMSMA Core implementation support as assigned by line manager. 4. Under supervision, conduct assessments, facilitate workshops and provide consultation remotely and onsite. 5. Contribute to designing, developing and maintaining training materials as well as delivering training sessions. 6. When requested by line manager, represent the GICHD by participating and presenting at conferences, meetings, workshops and through other outreach activities. 7. Support research and the production of studies, articles, and briefs. 8. Actively contribute the reporting based on the Results Based Management (RBM) system. 9. Contribute to designing, implementing and maintaining relevant systems and tools. Qualifications and professional experience University degree in Computer Science, GIS, Information Management (IM) or equivalent. Minimum of 4 years of previous relevant work experience in Mine Action development and implementation of IM systems or equivalent experience in the humanitarian or development sector. Advanced knowledge of Esri’s ArcGIS suite, including ArcGIS Enterprise Experience in delivering training courses to a diverse audience Knowledge, skills and competencies Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and oral is mandatory; fluency in an any other language spoken in affected countries an advantage. Strong understanding of relational databases, data modelling and geodata management. Excellent project management, analytical, planning and organisational skills Ability to coordinate simultaneous activities/projects. Effective verbal, written and presentation skills. Ability to facilitate technical workshops and support structured knowledge sharing among stakeholders.Ability to work in multi-cultural settings with a wide range of stakeholders. Knowledge of UN agencies, relevant national authorities, NGOs and humanitarian organisations. Travel requirements Expected to travel up to 50% of working time, primarily to countries where GICHD provides support in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), with travel to other regions as needed.
