Job Summary

Maintenance & Repairs Perform breakdown maintenance on heavy earthmoving equipment Carry out planned maintenance activities as per schedule Conduct fault finding and electrical diagnostics on mining machinery Repair and replace faulty electrical components and systems Complete job cards and maintenance documentation accurately Requisition required parts and follow up on breakdowns Technical Operations Install, inspect, and maintain electrical systems on mining equipment Diagnose and repair wiring, sensors, alternators, and starter systems Ensure optimal performance of equipment through preventative maintenance Safety & Compliance Adhere strictly to all mine health and safety regulations Apply lockout and isolation procedures at all times Maintain safe working standards in line with site requirements  Housekeeping Maintain clean and organised work areas Ensure tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

National Senior Certificate (Matric) Trade Test Certificate: Automotive Electrician (Required) N2 Engineering qualification in relevant field Minimum 3 years’ post-trade experience Experience working on heavy earthmoving equipment in an opencast mining environment Valid Driver’s License

KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES

Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability Experience with mining/heavy equipment electrical systems Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams Strong problem-solving skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Safety-conscious with strong compliance mindset Good communication and teamwork skills
