THE POSITION:

We are seeking a passionate and creative Art Teacher with a minimum of five years’ working experience in planning and teaching the IGCSE and A-level Art Curriculum to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will inspire students to explore their artistic potential, nurture their creativity and develop critical thinking through visual expression.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Deliver engaging Art lessons aligned with Cambridge curriculum standards
Foster a classroom environment that encourages creativity, confidence and collaboration
Guide students in developing technical skills across a range of media and techniques
Support learners in preparing for Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level Art examinations
Contribute to extracurricular art activities, exhibitions and school-wide cultural events
Integrate Art history and theory into practical lessons to deepen students’
understanding of artistic traditions and contemporary practices
Encourage students to develop personal portfolios showcasing their growth and creativity
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and abilities
Collaborate with colleagues across departments to promote interdisciplinary projects
Mentor and support students in competitions, art showcases, and creative initiatives
Maintain and manage art resources, studios and equipment responsibly
Engage parents and guardians in students’ artistic progress through regular communication
Participate actively in professional development and contribute to the school’s continuous improvement culture

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Qualifications and Experience:

Must have a minimum of Bachelor of Education, Fine Art option. Master’s degree qualification in Art preferred
At least 5 years teaching experience of the Cambridge IGCSE and A-level and a good track record of students’ successes.
Teaching certification in Cambridge curriculum desirable
Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and lesson planning
Experience with educational technology and online teaching platforms is a plus
