Job Summary

Key Responsibilities: Source and procure maize, soybeans, and derivative products within South Africa Conduct ongoing market analysis, monitoring local pricing trends, crop conditions, and supply/demand dynamics Develop and implement pricing strategies aligned to local market conditions Execute trades end-to-end, including buying, selling, and contract negotiation Build and maintain strong relationships Identify and develop new trading opportunities within the local market Work closely with logistics and operations teams to ensure efficient execution and delivery Manage the full trade lifecycle, from deal structuring through to delivery and payment Apply risk management principles, including exposure management and basic hedging where applicable Ensure all trades are executed in line with compliance and contractual requirements Requirements:  3–7+ years experience in commodity trading within South Africa (non-negotiable) Proven experience trading with Maize and/or Soybeans or related by-products (e.g. oilcake, soybean meal, animal feed inputs) Degree in related field will be beneficial Strong existing network within the South African agricultural sector Demonstrated ability to execute trades end-to-end Strong negotiation and deal-closing ability Commercially driven with strong profit awareness Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and relationship management skills
