We champion child wellbeing through community-driven solutions delivering sustainable child protection outcomes. Our integrated interventions span education, WASH, health, food security, livelihoods, and environment to foster thriving children/communities. In Cameroon, we partner with UN agencies, bilateral donors, and INGOs for enduring humanitarian/development impact. Project Context Funded by KOICA and implemented with UNICEF/stakeholders, KOICA Phase II strengthens local governance/systems for improved essential service access among vulnerable groups. Targeting education, child protection, WASH, and social services in East Region's Lom & Djerem/Kadey Divisions, Good Neighbors Cameroon recruits an Education Officer to drive project execution. Role Purpose The Education Officer oversees education intervention delivery/monitoring under KOICA Phase II, ensuring equitable access to inclusive, safe, quality learning for vulnerable children (refugees/host communities). Collaborating with local education authorities, municipalities, schools, and communities, they fortify education systems, boost enrollment/retention, and integrate community-level services. Key Responsibilities Program Implementation • Coordinate/execute education activities at community/municipal levels. • Establish/support Community Mechanisms for Monitoring Enrolment and Attendance (COSIFE) to track out-of-school children/prevent dropouts. • Provide technical aid to School Councils for School Improvement Plans (SIP). Capacity Building • Coordinate teacher training with Regional Delegation of Basic Education (DREB)/authorities. • Assist teachers integrating digital tools/ICT in teaching. Community Engagement • Mobilize communities/local authorities for inclusive education (girls, disabled/refugee children). • Facilitate dialogues/awareness on education access/retention. Logistics and Coordination • Manage school kit distribution/monitoring. • Coordinate with municipalities, IAEB, community stakeholders. Monitoring and Reporting • Support M&E including data collection/best practices/reporting. • Produce weekly/monthly/quarterly activity reports. • Attend UNICEF/education authority/partner coordination meetings. Representation • Represent GNCMR in education sector forums/platforms as needed. Required Qualifications • Master's in Education, Pedagogy, Social Sciences, or International Development. • 5+ years implementing Cameroon education programs in humanitarian/development settings. • Education in Emergencies (EiE) with displaced/disadvantaged populations. • Social/Behavior Change (SBC) expertise for community dialogues/leader mobilization (girls' education). • Integrated programming linking education to WASH/child protection. • In-depth Cameroon national education policies/DREB/IAEB frameworks; UNICEF standards. • Local governance/advocacy with municipalities advantageous. • Results-based M&E/high-quality reporting (weekly/monthly/quarterly). • Supervision/multi-sector coordination/capacity building. • Similar context/stakeholder experience; travel readiness. • MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer). Essential Skills • Strong interpersonal/communication/networking/coordination. • Child protection/gender equality/participation commitment. • Positive team player. • French fluency; English working knowledge; local languages advantageous. • Strong document analysis/editing skills.
