Responsibilities MTN is entering a new phase where operational and commercial excellence is critical for success. The urgency for change has intensified due to increased competition across all markets. The Insurance Analyst must ensure successful delivery in the following areas: Operational Responsibilities • Identify all existing and future insurance risk exposures to ensure adequate coverage and effective claims processes. • Collect and create exposure data, prepare annual underwriting quotes for all risk financing/insurance programs, and assist the broker as needed. • Control insurance risk management programs and policies to ensure accuracy and effectiveness, reducing costs and losses. • Ensure appropriate insurance coverages are utilized according to MTN's business needs and are maintained and renewed timely. • Identify and assess coverage gaps, recommending actions to address them. • Coordinate and manage outstanding issues with insurance brokers, follow up on renewals, and ensure compliance with specified conditions. • Manage the issuance of certificates of insurance on behalf of MTNC. • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and the Risk & Compliance team to execute corporate insurance risk assessments and reporting plans. • Facilitate ongoing assessments of internal controls and assist in monitoring, evaluating, recommending, and reporting on insurance risk mitigation activities. • Develop or update the insurance management framework (Policy, Procedure) within MTNC. • Conduct technical, economic, and regulatory monitoring to ensure continuous updates on identified insurance risks. Key Deliverables • Financial (5%)   - Prepare schedules for premium payments. • Internal (50%)   - Prepare supporting documents for policy renewals.   - Maintain an electronic filing structure for all insurance-related documents.   - Identify best-fit risk management measures to make MTNC local policy risks acceptable to underwriters.   - Implement risk management procedures in conjunction with relevant units and ensure compliance.   - Manage claims experiences between MTNC units and insurers, keeping claims at acceptable ratios.   - Provide and analyze data for the MTNC Insurance Budget; review budget vs. actual and identify variance factors.   - Participate in claims settlement and negotiation procedures, verifying insurance offers for conformity with contract terms.   - Collate underwriting information for the MTN Group Insurance Program for submission to the Group.   - Coordinate pre- and post-insurance risk survey activities, ensuring risk findings are implemented by responsible stakeholders. • Customer (25%)   - Gather relevant documentation for insurance claim processing and liaise with external parties for claim resolution. • Stakeholder (5%)   - Provide statistical information (loss ratio, premium savings, sum insured growth) to support management recommendations.   - Advise on how new exposures should be treated, whether as new covers or extensions to existing policies, and make recommendations to management. Qualifications • Education: 3-year university degree/diploma in Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field. • Certifications: Insurance professional certification is desirable and advantageous. Registration with risk management professional bodies such as IRM or RIMS is preferred. CISA, ACCA, ISO Certification, Data Analytics, or experience in risk management would be beneficial. Experience • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in insurance risk management, including contract management, review, analysis, acquisitions, and claims management. • Experience in corporate insurance risk or a related role within a large organization is required. • Telecommunications experience is desirable.
