We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Stores Supervisor Location: Ndola Cement, Zambia Responsibilties Always uphold people safety standards, advisories and policies. Prevent all unauthorized access to the warehouse. Maintain clean item master file by controlling additions, unit of measure, identify and treat duplicate items. Enhance item descriptions and specifications through active collaboration with user departments in accordance with relevant standards and OEM catalogues. Notify Stores head off any irregularities in inventory records and support in resolving. To identify slow moving items and obsolescence and sought management approval. Organize and manage scrap and reclaim yards particularly the incoming and outgoing by quantity. Secure both yards from pilferage and theft. Carry out daily and any periodical reconciliations on fuel, cement empty bags, explosives, refractories, stationery, PPE and tools. Store hazardous materials according to the relevant safety standards and ensure material safety data sheets are always available. To conduct efficient and effective cycle count process right from scheduling, count scope, data input to production of stock discrepancy report within agreed time frame. Manage and account for gas cylinders and mineral water bottles in the plant and point of refill. Report damages or cannibalized units to HOD stores. Sign off stock transfers from central store to sub stores and maintain documents and registers. Ensure goods inwards and outward registers are properly maintained. Items in custody are properly preserved in accordance with current engineering standards to avoid premature deterioration and damage. Generate daily and monthly management reports. Ensure shelf weight limits are always observed and observe stock item unit of measure. Reconcile periodic transactions that is receipts, issues and transfers and ensure that are compliant to SOP and standards. Ensure emergency (manual) stores reservations are promptly converted into the system (SAP)reservations and posted at the earliest opportunity (ideally by the next business day). Participate in daily safety pep talks, housekeeping activities, and the monthly departmental safety meetings. To execute additional tasks as directed by management. Additional Responsibilities: Ensure effective stock holding to sustain company operations. Item master file management through identification of duplicates, insufficient specifications, item unit of measure. Procession of stock returns to reflect actual maintenance costs. Accurate cycle counting and reconciliations. Encourage items standardization. Effectively manage the interface with end users. Liaise and coordinate with end users over inventory matters. Engage users with a view that they understand how stores operate. Make housekeeping plan to cover warehouse and stockyards. Ensure maintenance/repair/servicing of building and equipment are timely executed. Professional Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Management or equivalent. 5 years experience in inventory management. Good appreciation of stock & procurement management systems. Good understanding of the max-min calculations. Basics knowledge of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, refractory and heavy mobile vehicle parts. Knowledge of safety rules and regulations.
