The Organisation
Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. We believe in the power and potential of every child but know this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it is girls who are most affected.
Working together with children, young people, supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges girls and vulnerable children face. We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood and we enable children to prepare for and respond to crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.
For over 85 years, we have rallied other determined optimists to transform the lives of all children in more than 80 countries.
We won’t stop until we are all equal.
The Opportunity:
Lead the technical design, review and quality assurance of EiE interventions across the country portfolio, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities, national frameworks and global standards.
Provide technical leadership in the planning, start-up, implementation, adaptation and close-out of EiE projects and ensure that delivery is evidence-based, contextually relevant and responsive to emerging needs.
Promote integrated and coherent programming between EiE and other thematic areas, especially CPiE, safeguarding, gender equality and inclusion, and adolescent and youth-focused programming.
Ensure programme approaches reflect quality, inclusion, protection, learning continuity and safe access for crisis-affected children and young people.
Support the development and use of technical guidance, tools, implementation standards and quality benchmarks for EiE programming in Mozambique.
Lead or contribute substantially to technical scoping, concept note development, proposal writing, logframe development, theory of change articulation and budget input for new funding opportunities.
Develop or adapt training materials, technical briefs, job aids and implementation tools relevant to EiE programming in Mozambique
Promote learning and knowledge sharing across Plan International’s internal technical networks and ensure relevant global guidance is contextualised for the Mozambique programme.
Support the preparation and quality assurance of internal and donor reports, ensuring accuracy, coherence, technical quality and timely submission.
About you :
Master’s degree in Education, Inclusive Education, Curriculum Studies, Education Planning, International Development or another relevant field.
At least 8 years of progressively responsible experience in education programming, including at least 5 years in Education in Emergencies, humanitarian education or crisis-affected contexts.
Demonstrated technical experience in designing, supporting and reviewing EiE projects and programmes, including proposal development, implementation support and technical quality assurance.
Strong understanding of EiE standards and approaches, including safe learning spaces, learning continuity, accelerated learning, teacher support, inclusive education and crisis-sensitive education planning.
Solid understanding of the education system in Mozambique and experience engaging with government education structures and sector stakeholders.
Experience in capacity strengthening, mentoring and technical accompaniment of staff and partners.
Experience in humanitarian coordination mechanisms such as the Education Cluster or related technical working groups.
