About the Role

In this key position, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of electrical projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will coordinate with cross-functional teams, manage resources, and drive continuous improvement. Your leadership will be essential in mitigating risks, ensuring compliance with South African electrical regulations, and optimizing project performance. This role is ideal for a project manager who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative setting and possesses a deep understanding of electrical systems, renewable energy integration, and smart grid technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple electrical projects from conception through to completion, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.

• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices.

• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to define project scope, technical specifications, and deliverables.

• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards, particularly South African regulations (e.g., SANS, OHS Act).

• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to minimize project delays and cost overruns.

• Manage procurement of electrical materials, equipment, and services, optimizing supply chain efficiency.

• Monitor project progress, prepare regular status reports, and communicate updates to senior management.

• Drive innovation by integrating sustainable and energy-efficient solutions into project designs.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.

• Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager or similar role, ideally within the technology, infrastructure, or renewable energy sectors.

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, and control systems.

• Professional certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or ECSA registration) is highly desirable.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and familiarity with Agile methodologies.

• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites across South Africa as required.
