The role involves assessing patient needs, planning and implementing care, monitoring progress, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately Monitor patient vital signs and condition, reporting any changes promptly Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation Assist with medical procedures and support physicians during examinations and treatments Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care Ensure infection control protocols and safety standards are strictly followed Respond to emergencies and provide appropriate nursing interventions Supervise and support enrolled nurses, nursing assistants, and other support staff Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold ethical nursing practices

Minimum Requirements Diploma or Degree in Nursing Registered with the relevant Nursing Council (e.g., SANC – South African Nursing Council) Valid practicing license Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Advanced Life Support advantageous) Minimum 1–3 years’ clinical experience (preferred, depending on facility) Key Skills & Competencies Strong clinical and critical thinking skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment High level of attention to detail and accuracy Compassionate and patient-focused approach Teamwork and collaboration Time management and organizational skills Working Conditions Shift work, including nights, weekends, and public holidays Exposure to clinical environments and infectious diseases Physically demanding role requiring long periods of standing and patient handling Remuneration Market-related salary, based on experience and qualifications, plus applicable benefits.
