📌 ### 📌 Job Summary: This position offers career growth opportunities within the institution, as successful candidates may be deployed in either the Finance/Accounts Department, the Credit Department (Loan Operations) or the Internal Control department based on institutional needs and performance. The Accounts Clerk will support financial and operational activities of the institution, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in accounting, credit operations and internal control operations as assigned. Key Responsibilities: Finance / Accounting Functions: Posting and reconciling daily financial transactions, maintaining accounting records and supporting documentation, assisting in preparation of financial reports, bank and cash reconciliations, ensuring adherence to internal controls and financial procedures. Credit / Loan Operations Functions: Receiving and processing loan applications, conducting basic credit investigations and client follow-ups, preparing loan documentation, monitoring loan repayments, assisting in loan recovery activities, maintaining accurate loan files and reports. Internal Control & Compliance Functions: Verify daily cash balances and transaction reports, conduct periodic checks on branch cash and vault balances, ensure transactions comply with internal policies and approval limits, detect and report irregularities or control weaknesses, assist in enforcing segregation of duties, support internal and external audit processes, ensure proper documentation of loan and accounting files. Minimum Qualification: Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting, Banking and Finance, Business Administration or related field. Must be at least 24 years of age. Experience: Minimum 1 year relevant experience in accounting, finance or microfinance. Experience in internal control or audit functions is an added advantage. Required Skills and Competencies: Good knowledge of accounting and basic credit principles, strong analytical and numerical skills, proficiency in Microsoft office suit (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc) and financial software, high level of integrity and confidentiality, good communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work under pressure and meet targets, willingness to learn and easily adapt in fast pace growing environment, basic understanding of internal control systems, ability to work independently and report objectively.
