The mine is owned by Galiano Gold Inc., a dual-listed (NYSE & TSX) mining company focused on responsible exploration, development, and operations. Job Description THE OPPORTUNITY Asanko Gold Ghana Ltd hereby invites applications from suitably qualified employees to fill Plant Operator vacancies in the Processing Department at the Obotan Site. The successful candidates will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining processing plant equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous production. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES As a Plant Operator, your duties will include: Operate and monitor processing plant equipment, including crushers, mills, conveyors, thickeners, pumps, CIL, and other key process sections of the Plant. Carry out routine inspections, adjustments, and minor maintenance to ensure smooth and continuous operations. Monitor process parameters, record data, and promptly report deviations, faults, or changes from predetermined plans to the supervisor. Complete accurate shift logs, end-of-shift reports, and ensure proper handover to incoming shift/crew. Adhere to all Safety, Environment, ICMC, and company policies relevant to the work area; report incidents, unsafe acts/conditions, hazards, and security issues to the supervisor. Ensure full compliance with prescribed PPEs, Take Five, and other relevant safety management systems before undertaking any tasks. Support the achievement of production targets by maintaining efficiency, minimizing downtime, and assisting in identifying solutions to operational challenges. Work collaboratively with maintenance and technical teams to resolve plant issues. Collect samples from designated points during shifts for assaying. Participate and contribute to the development and review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including isolation procedures for equipment. Maintain high housekeeping standards across the process circuits. Perform any other tasks assigned by the Supervisor in line with company policies. Required Skills or Experience Knowledge and Experience Minimum WASSCE/Tradesman Certificate (NVTI, COTVET, or its equivalent) in Process operations, mechanical, or related field. Between 2–3 years of hands-on experience in a gold mining processing plant. Familiarity with crushers, mills, conveyors, CIL, Thickeners, Gekko or ILR operations, and Elution processes. Knowledge of slurry handling and water recovery processes. Familiarity with environmental regulations and best practices for process plant Operations. Skills Proficient in operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting plant equipment. Working knowledge in safety standards, process flows, and emergency protocols, with strong commitment to risk management. Capable of performing basic maintenance and promptly reporting defects. Experience in SCADA/DCS systems will be an advantage. Skillful in identifying and resolving operational issues efficiently. Accurate in monitoring, recording, and reporting process plant operations.
