The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking an Assistant Protection based in Blangoua, Cameroon, to implement activities related to the prevention and response to Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and child protection. The role involves working directly with survivors, local authorities, and community leaders to ensure psychosocial support and case management are conducted according to organizational principles and international standards. The Assistant Protection will also contribute to community prevention mechanisms and facilitate access to essential services for survivors. This position requires a strong commitment to confidentiality, safety, and non-discrimination. Technical or university degree in social work, psychology, or related field At least 1 year of experience in GBV programs or case management Experience in humanitarian or sensitive protection contexts Understanding of GBV dynamics and survivor-centered approaches Fluency in French; knowledge of local languages is a plus Ability to work with vulnerable populations while promoting gender equality
