About the Role We are looking for a  Grants Accounting and Finance Officer who will play a key role in supporting the financial stewardship of grants within our programs and projects. This position ensures that grant funds are managed responsibly, financial processes run smoothly, and implementing partners remain fully supported in achieving project goals.

The role is vital in monitoring grant-related financial requirements, maintaining an accurate Grants Information System, and preparing financial analyses and reports. You will work closely with project teams, partners, and internal stakeholders to uphold both donor requirements and organizational standards. Key Responsibilities Financial Monitoring & Reporting Develop and maintain monitoring systems for grant budgets, expenditures, and financial performance. Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly financial reports for assigned grants. Conduct weekly reconciliation of cross charges to ensure accuracy and alignment. Project Finance Support Support project teams in reviewing work plans, financial plans, and budget phasing. Validate and consolidate financial reports from partners and local implementing organizations. Review Project Requests (PRs), Advance Payment Requests (APRs), payment requests, cash advances, liquidations, reimbursements, and petty cash replenishments for completeness and compliance. Compliance & Documentation Ensure all financial transactions comply with donor regulations and organizational accounting policies. Provide required financial documents during audits and maintain readiness for compliance checks. Maintain complete and updated files of all grant-related documents, including signed contracts, approvals, modifications, and narrative/financial reports. Qualifications & Requirements Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree or diploma with 2–3 years of relevant professional experience , or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Expérience

Experience in grant management or financial monitoring within NGOs, development organizations, or donor-funded projects is an advantage. Technical Knowledge Solid understanding of project processes, financial systems, and standard operating procedures. Strong grasp of compliance frameworks and policies relevant to donor-funded programs. Digital Literacy Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft 365, and standard financial management applications. Core Competencies

Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to navigate and resolve complex issues. Communication: Able to explain technical financial concepts clearly to non-finance colleagues and partners.
