MONITORING OFFICER

Monitor and supervise day-to-day activities of Tractor Operators to ensure adherence to project guidelines and standards. Track fuel usage, oversee timely refilling, and monitor maintenance of tractors and equipment to prevent misuse or downtime. Collect and submit accurate, timely reports on tractor utilization, field activities, and productivity to the Project Team. Assist in collecting payments for tractor services, maintain proper documentation, and reconcile revenue with the Finance unit. Ensure all operational activities comply with project policies to prevent errors, fraud, or inconsistencies. Gather relevant data on field progress and farmer feedback to support monitoring and decision-making. Address operational challenges or disputes between Tractor Operators and farmers promptly and escalate unresolved issues to the Project Team. Provide on-the-job guidance to Tractor Operators on best practices, safety procedures, and project protocols. Assist the Project Team in evaluating Tractor Operators’ performance through observation, reporting, and feedback to drive continuous improvement. Qualification/Requirements Bachelor’s degree or HND in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Agribusiness, Operations Management, or related field Minimum of 2–5 years’ experience in agricultural operations, mechanization services, or field supervision Experience supervising field teams or equipment operators is required. Experience in tractor operations or fleet coordination Strong understanding of tractor operations and basic maintenance practices Knowledge of fuel tracking and equipment management systems Proficiency in Google Sheets, or mobile data collection tools Strong analytical and problem-solving skills High attention to detail and accuracy Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Conflict resolution and stakeholder management ability. Strong sense of integrity and accountability. Willingness to work extensively in field environments Ability to travel frequently across operational areas. Valid driver’s license (Class E) Knowledge of local languages is an added advantage Ability to work in a predominantly field-based role in rural/agricultural environments Ability to work extended periods outdoors and travel between locations Ability to work irregular working hours during peak farming seasons
