Oversee data integration from multiple platforms (DHIS2, Comcare, Kobo, ERP systems, EHR, ESS, dashboards) and ensure seamless interoperability for real-time reporting and analysis.

Maintain and enforce data governance standards, including documentation, workflows, metadata management, and compliance with organizational and donor requirements.

Collaborate with IT, operations, and program teams to proactively identify system bottlenecks, implement process improvements, and strengthen functionality and user adoption.

Champion data architecture innovation, identifying opportunities to automate processes, improve efficiency, and enhance analytics capabilities.

  1. Data Quality & Accountability

Lead organization-wide data quality initiatives, conducting routine assessments (DQAs) and implementing measurable standards for accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and consistency.

Establish mechanisms to monitor and enforce data accountability, ensuring teams consistently meet quality standards and escalate issues when needed.

Promote a culture of accountability, where data quality is embedded in all operational and programmatic processes.

Build the capacity of staff and stakeholders to use data systems effectively, ensuring they understand quality standards, workflows, and the strategic use of data.

Regularly report on data quality performance, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

  1. Advanced Analytics & Decision-Support

Conduct in-depth trend, cohort, segmentation, and performance analyses to uncover drivers of success or underperformance across all channels.

Translate complex datasets into actionable insights that inform programmatic, operational, and commercial decisions, supporting leadership in strategy and resource allocation.

Identify emerging risks and opportunities using predictive and performance-driven analysis, providing clear recommendations for interventions and improvements.

Lead the development of automated dashboards and reporting tools, ensuring decision-makers have timely, accurate, and visual data at their fingertips.

Serve as a strategic partner in performance reviews, challenging teams with evidence, identifying gaps, and driving operational improvements.

  1. Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Leadership

Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of MEL frameworks for all programs, including donor-funded projects.

Develop, monitor, and interpret KPIs and performance metrics aligned with organizational and donor priorities, ensuring insights drive results.

Support program teams in adaptive management, helping them use MEL data to adjust strategies, improve outcomes, and achieve targets.

Produce high-quality donor reports, evaluations, and performance briefs, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with reporting requirements.

Capture and disseminate lessons learned, best practices, and evidence-based insights to foster organizational learning and continuous improvement.

  1. Cross-Functional Support & Capacity-Building

Act as a trusted analytical and MEL partner to program, center, and social marketing teams, providing guidance, insights, and recommendations for performance improvement.

Standardize reporting templates, dashboards, indicators, and tools across channels to ensure consistency and comparability of data.

Champion a culture of data-driven decision-making, embedding analytics and evidence-use into planning, operations, and strategy.

Train and mentor staff across teams on data literacy, dashboard interpretation, and performance management, building a sustainable internal capability.

Expert Application Advice

Technical proficiency — Marie Stopes ... expects hands-on mastery of KOBO. Don't just list them: describe a concrete project where you used them and the outcome delivered.

Positioning — Your cover letter must answer one question: why YOU for THIS specific role right NOW? Avoid generic templates — one sentence on what you specifically bring beats three generic paragraphs.

Software and standards — Specify your actual accounting tools and standards knowledge. Finance technical tests often cover reconciliation cases or variance analysis — practice these with real examples.
