Job Description

The U.S. Mission in Abuja, Nigeria is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the Senior Program Specialist, Monitoring & Evaluation (Team Lead M&E) in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Office. The U.S. Mission in Nigeria supports Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA). Duties This position, under the supervision of the Monitoring, Evaluation and Data Analytics Branch Chief, will provide technical expertise to improve HIV/AIDS prevention programs of CDC Nigeria and the Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH). The incumbent serves as lead for clinical program monitoring and evaluating progress in program implementation of HIV/AIDS prevention activities conducted by CDC Nigeria and the FMOH by applying both theoretical and practical knowledge of clinical medicine, statistics, social and behavioral science, evaluation strategies, and research methodology to the design and conduct of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) activities. Incumbent will develop appropriate data management systems to monitor health objectives and indicators for HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment programs. Qualifications and Evaluations MBBS (MD) or a terminal degree in one of the following disciplines: Public Health; Epidemiology; Computer Science, Behavioral Sciences, or Applied Mathematics/Medical Statistics is required. The incumbent must have at least five (5) years’ experience with chronic infectious disease prevention or treatment programs at the local, state or international levels that entailed responsibility for monitoring and the evaluation of program activities.  Experience collaborating with host government leadership is required. NYSC Certificate/Exclusion/Exemption is required.
