Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly structured, detail-oriented, and efficiency-driven Payroll Officer to oversee all facets of payroll administration for our organization. The successful applicant will demonstrate established expertise in Cameroonian labor codes, compensation calculations, and advanced Excel capabilities, ensuring absolute precision and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
The Payroll Officer will be tasked with the following:
Payroll Administration and Processing
• Oversee the complete end-to-end payroll cycle, guaranteeing punctuality and data integrity.
• Compile, audit, and authorize payroll variables including base salaries, overtime, allowances, and various deductions.
• Maintain systematic and secure payroll archives in both digital and physical formats.
• Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality regarding staff compensation data.
Statutory Compliance and Reporting
• Ensure total adherence to Cameroonian payroll statutes, including CNPS filings, IRPP calculations, and mandatory tax withholdings.
• Generate and file monthly statutory returns within the prescribed legal timeframes.
• Track amendments in finance acts, labor laws, and fiscal regulations to maintain ongoing compliance.
• Facilitate payroll-related audits and organize necessary documentation for regulatory inspections.
Payroll Reconciliation and Employee Support
• Perform regular reconciliation of payroll accounts and resolve any data inconsistencies immediately.
• Partner with Finance and HR departments to synchronize employee records and compensation workflows.
• Resolve payroll inquiries from staff with professionalism and speed.
• Produce comprehensive payroll summaries and strategic reports for management review.
Required Skills:
• Minimum of 2 years of verified experience as a Payroll Officer.
• Thorough mastery of Cameroonian payroll frameworks, including CNPS, IRPP, and the national labor code.
• Advanced command of Microsoft Excel, specifically VLOOKUP, pivot tables, complex formulas, and data analysis.
• Proven ability to operate autonomously while respecting rigorous deadlines.
• Exceptional professional integrity and a strong commitment to data privacy.
• Prior experience managing payroll for over 50 employees is highly desirable.
• Professional bilingualism in English and French (both oral and written).
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related discipline.
• Familiarity with payroll ERP systems such as SAGE, SAP, or equivalent software.
• Understanding of labor dispute resolution and contract law.
• Professional accounting or payroll certification is a significant advantage.
