Company Profile

EduSpots is an innovative, dynamic, and community-orientated UK and Ghanaian registered charity which connects, trains, and equips grassroots voluntary educators (named ‘Catalysts’) to drive community-led change through education spaces named ‘Spots’. Our vision is of a world in which communities unite to create the futures they want to see, through education.

Since 2016, through collaborating with over 400 local voluntary community educators and actors – named ‘Catalysts’ – who take a central leadership role in the development of the network, we have supported 50 communities in creating and running community-led and owned education spaces named ‘Spots’’. Together, we are developing a model for a community-led education space with accompanying network engagement that could have global relevance. Read our model of change document here .

Our Ghana-based team creates collaborative learning opportunities through three leadership programmes for Catalysts which are increasingly facilitated by the EduSpots app: the Ignite, Catalyse and Inspire Mentoring Programmes. These enable the Catalysts to lead EduKidz (early years education), DigLit (digital literacy), EcoSTEM (STEM and environmental education) and Ignite Equity (gender equity) clubs for learners typically aged 3-16, alongside locally designed education projects, reaching over 10,000 learners of all ages annually. Read our 2023 Annual Report here and our recent independent evaluation here .

We are in an exciting period of our development, having more than doubled our income, programme breadth and reach in the two years, with a recent independent evaluation by Expectation State offering further evidence in support of our model’s outcomes. We have been recently selected for two accelerator programmes, who are supporting us as we consider the scaling potential of our model. In the period, we are aiming to double our network reach, bringing an additional 50 Spots into the network.

We won the Tes International Award in 2018 and the Big Give Supporters’ Choice Award in 2022, and we were recently selected as a finalist for the 2023 Their World Scale-Up Innovation Prize. In 2021, our Founder was a Finalist in UNESCO-backed The Varkey Foundation’s $1 million Global Teacher Prize.

We are excited by our future. Do visit for further information.

Job Description

We are seeking an inspiring and innovative environmental education leader with a strong track record of integrating local knowledge, technology and creativity into inclusive, learner-centred programmes.

Location: Remote working (based in Ghana, with some travel)

Reporting to: Head of Leadership Programmes

Hours: Full-time

Salary: Manager band, in line with experience

This role is being introduced to oversee EduSpots’ various integrated environmental education programmes, and to champion environmental education, climate action and wider environmental sustainability across the network.

EduSpots has always embedded environmental education and sustainability into its model, with 12 Spots powered by solar, and an eco code first created in 2019. In 2023, we formalised the integration of environmental education into our Education Hub for learners through the EcoSTEM clubs programme for Junior High students, alongside launching the annual Green Spot Innovation Challenge into our leadership programmes.

In 2025, we were funded by the Gower Street Trust to lead the Ghana Climate Education Community of Practice (CECOP), bringing 10 dynamic Ghana-based climate education NGOs together in collaborative learning. In 2026, we look to build on this work, and also launch a new Eco Leadership Programme that enables both learners and Catalysts to act as wider catalysts of environmental change at their Spots, with projects and learning stretched across six core themes of: tree-planting and deforestation, biodiversity, plastics pollution, agricultural methodologies, sustainable architecture and sustainable energy.

We are looking for an experienced leader and passionate climate education specialist to work with our committed and talented team to take this work to the next level of impact, working in partnership with other climate education specialists across Ghana. The post holder will work closely alongside the EcoSTEM Specialist (part-time), the EcoSTEM Programmes Coordinator, four Regional Coordinators, and also line manage an Environmental Education Peer Mentor.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Leading the development of EduSpots’ new Eco Leadership Programme, working with regional coordinators to strengthen environmental leadership and impact through working with local Catalysts and learners.

Supporting with the delivery of the Sustain and Catalyse Leadership Programmes, overseen by the Head of Leadership Programmes.

Facilitating the Climate Education Community of Practice, strengthening nationwide climate education, working alongside 10-15 local NGOs.

Supporting environmental education as embedded within the wider EcoSTEM clubs strand.

Working effectively with partner organisations with specific specialisms, encouraging collaboration and mutual learning.

Managing an environmental education Peer Mentor, and any other environmental education roles that may emerge in future.

Co-creating an ever-progressing environmental code, embedded in Spots, programmes, and the wider staff operations of EduSpots.

Creating resources on aspects of environmental education for learners, Catalysts and staff.

Leading on reporting for all environmental education and wider environmental sustainability projects.

Leading the development and oversight of a tracking system for documenting environmental change in classrooms, communities and organisations.

Conducting occasional Spot visits.

Contributing to the staff professional development programme.

Conducting qualitative research across the network and analysing findings through research articles (formal and informal).

Taking on other education and research related roles within the team, as needs arise.

Inputting proactivity into EduSpots’ wider organisational strategy.
