Accountant Job Type Full Time , Onsite Qualification BA/BSc/HND Experience 2 - 9 years Location Abuja Job Field Education / Teaching   Salary Range ₦150,000 - ₦200,000/month Job Overview The Accountant is responsible for managing the organisation’s financial records, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting sound financial decision-making. The role involves maintaining accounting systems, preparing financial reports, monitoring financial transactions, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and organisational policies. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining financial integrity, transparency, and effective financial management within the organisation. Key Responsibilities Financial Record Management Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records. Record and reconcile financial transactions in the accounting system. Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records. Financial Reporting Prepare periodic financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets. Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Provide financial information to management to support decision-making. Budgeting and Financial Monitoring Assist in preparing organisational budgets. Monitor expenditures and ensure spending aligns with approved budgets. Track financial performance and identify variances. 4. Accounts Payable and Receivable Manage payment processing and supplier invoices. Monitor accounts receivable and ensure timely collection of payments. Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions. Compliance and Internal Controls Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and organisational policies. Support internal and external audit processes. Maintain effective financial control systems. Financial Analysis and Support Assist management with financial analysis and reporting. Provide insights that support financial planning and operational efficiency. Key Skills and Competencies Candidates should demonstrate: Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting High level of accuracy and attention to detail Analytical and problem-solving abilities Strong organisational and time-management skills Excellent numerical and data analysis skills Professional integrity and confidentiality Qualifications and Requirements Education Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional Certification (Preferred) ICAN, ACCA, or other relevant professional accounting certification. Experience Minimum of 3–4 years of accounting or financial management experience. Technical Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Knowledge of financial reporting systems and accounting standards.
