Reports to: MEAL Manager Duty station: Bamenda Type of contract: Fixed Term Availability: 15 March 2026

Main objective and tasks The Protection Data Management Officer is responsible for monitoring and reporting on the project’s performance, under the supervision of the Program Coordinator (PC), and the collaboration of the Project Manager (PM). S/he prepares the project’s monitoring plan, ensures that all the indicator data is captured according to the proper methodology, archived and reported consistently across the different reporting templates. S/he will train the project team to the proper use and reporting of the different data collection template s/he will develop with the support of the PM and the PC

  1. Project Performance tools elaboration
  • Develops the project monitoring plan, which clearly defines the indicators’ disaggregation and calculation methods, collection and reporting frequencies in accordance with the project logframe, workplan and the donor performance evaluation tools
  • Ensures the tools and forms for the production of harmonized sources of verification are validated, available, properly used and archived, both physically and electronically.
  • Discusses with the activity officers their needs, constraints and issues on the use of the current data collection tools, and proposes improvement and optimizations on the processes, tools and deadlines
  1. Staff training and empowerment
  • Briefs the project staff on the project indicators, collection and calculation methods, frequencies and templates.
  • With the support of the project manager, trains the teams on the reporting templates
  • Identifies the technical gaps in data collection, validation and archiving and in conjunction with the Project Manager, develops a training curriculum to address the relevant issues.
  • Relays the issues raised by the project teams related to the use of the reporting or monitoring tools to the project manager and Programs coordinator
  1. Data management
  • Coordinates Data collection and analysis, including documentation, and reporting to ensure accountability to donor and the organization.
  • Sets-up tools for data collection for surveys,
  • Builds and maintains the project’s Information databases: geographical, beneficiaries and documents
  • Ensures the quality of the data collected is properly processed before submission to the Project Manager and Program coordinator
  • Ensures program filing system is in place, adheres to internal and donor regulation and filing is regularly maintained
  • Ensures that the proper report templates are available and distributed among the team
  1. Reporting
  • Prepares and shares a weekly performance report (planning vs achievement)
  • Counterchecks the integrity, consistence and coherence of the performance data reported in each of the project reports templates and raises any issue to the Project Manager
  • In conjunction with the project manager and the activity officers, coordinate the collection of the most significant changes generated by the project (testimonials and case studies) and success stories and ensure monthly reporting.
  1. Accountability
  • Acts as the AAP focal point, ensures that all accountability tools are implemented at all stages of the project and ensure their optimal functioning, compiles the complaints and follows-up on their treatment by the relevant INTERSOS staff
  • Engages the teams and actively report cases of fraud or abuse, including cases of SEA found by the teams or partners, in conjunction with the PSEA Focal Point. -Through the monitoring of the complaint boxes and feedback registers, reports weekly and monthly on the beneficiaries and other stakeholders’ feedback on project activities and outcomes.

Educational and professional experience required

  • Bachelor’s in computer science, data management, statistics, and/or any related scientific field

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a humanitarian context, in an association, NGO or INGO

  • Proven work experience in project monitoring and evaluation in a similar context.

  • At least 1 year of field work experience in the NW or SW context during the crisis

  • Experience working and / or collaborating on a WFP project would be an asset

Technical and behavioral competencies required

  • Advanced Knowledge of

  • Mainstream survey and Data collection tools (KoboToolbox, SurveyMonkey, Google Forms, Enketo)

  • Basic humanitarian GIS tools (OpenStreetMaps, Google Earth and Google Custom maps)

  • Basic Database processing tools (Excel and Access)

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, outlook),

  • Mainstream web browsers (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox)

  • Web-based mainstream chat and conferencing tools/platforms (Skype, Teams, Zoom and WebEx)

  • Web 2.0 tools (cloud storage, webmail and others)

  • Strong redactional skills

  • Adaptability and readiness to carry out numerous field trips

  • Analytical and reporting skills

  • Capacity to work under pressure, flexibility

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Languages

  • Fluency in both written and oral formal English

  • Fluency in Pidgin English
