CONTRACTUAL INFORMATION: Position Title: Programme Policy Officer (IFI - Safeguards Compliance) Contract Type: Consultant, Level II Division: Programme Duty Station: Port Sudan, Sudan Duration: 11 months BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT: The Sudan Country Office (CO) is undergoing an important phase of operational development, marked by the integration of multiple thematic areas and the significant expansion of increasingly complex initiatives funded by International Financial Institutions (IFIs). Conversely the environmental safeguards function is much less established within WFP, but highly relevant to WFP Sudan's growing portfolio supporting agricultural production. Given the scale, complexity, and legal obligations associated with IFI safeguards, and the significant reputational and financial risks associated with non-compliance, the Suda
