The intern will assist in data collection, analysis of case-specific datasets, and research in internal databases and open sources. This role provides an opportunity to develop analytical capabilities and gain hands-on experience in investigative work. The internship lasts for six months, starting in June 2026, and offers a stipend of up to $1,000 per month. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DIVISION: The Office of Inspections and Investigations (OIGI) is part of the Office of the Inspector General (OIG). OIGI’s mission is to conduct inspections and investigations into allegations of wrongdoing and misconduct. The purpose of an investigation is to establish facts and provide sufficient evidence and analysis to determine whether a reported allegation has occurred, and if so, to enable WFP management to take appropriate action against the responsible persons or entities. OIGI investigations may involve WFP personnel, cooperating partners, vendors, and other external parties. GENERAL INFORMATION Type of assignment: Internship Number of available positions: One (1) Country of assignment: Remote City of assignment: Remote Hiring Unit: OIGI Supervisor: Investigations Officer (Analyst) Working arrangement: REMOTE INTERNSHIP Duration of assignment: 6 Months Expected Starting Date: June 2026 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Under the direct supervision of the Investigations Officer (Analyst), the incumbent will perform the following duties: Assist in data collection, cleaning and collation; Assist in the analysis of OIGI’s caseload and/or case-specific datasets; Conduct research in internal databases and repositories and in open sources; Assist in the development of the analytical capabilities in OIGI; Assist with other facets of investigative work, including preliminary assessment of complaints, assisting with ongoing investigations and any other duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate programme in a relevant field, including but not limited to Law, Investigations, Criminology, Social Science or other related fields, from a recognised university OR recently graduated from an undergraduate or graduate programme in a relevant field, including but not limited to Law, Investigations, Criminology, Social Science or other related fields (within six months prior to the application to the internship programme), from a recognised university; University course attendance in the past 12 months. Previous exposure to investigative settings or experience in conducting crime-related quantitative research is an asset. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Ability to write clearly and concisely Attention to detail Research and analytical skills Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural and diverse international environment Knowledge of IT applications in general and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Knowledge of intelligence analysis discipline and/or investigation techniques is an asset WORKING LANGUAGES Excellent written and spoken English is required (p
