Total LandCare Tanzania (TLC) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to promoting sustainable land and natural resource management. Established in September 2006 under the Society Ordinance of 1954 and later re-registered as an NGO in 2020, TLC Tanzania operates as part of the regional Total LandCare (TLC) Global network, which includes sister organizations in Malawi, Zambia, and Mozambique. TLC Tanzania works closely with local communities, government agencies, research institutions, and international development partners to implement holistic, scalable, and community-driven Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) that enhance environmental sustainability while improving livelihoods. The organization focuses on afforestation, agroforestry, sustainable agriculture, watershed management, and climate resilience initiatives to combat land degradation, improve food security, and restore biodiversity. Through its integrated approach, TLC Tanzania empowers communities with capacity-building programs, technical support, and innovative solutions that align with national and global sustainability goals, including the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Paris Agreement, and Tanzania’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). By fostering public-private partnerships, leveraging scientific research, and promoting climate-smart practices, TLC Tanzania is driving impactful change for both people and nature.
