UNICEF is seeking a Senior Consultant to conduct a benefits realization study of the Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC) services. The consultant will assess existing and planned services, identify enablers and blockers to benefits realization, and propose a Benefits Realisation Framework for GSSC. This role involves collaboration with GSSC management and various teams to enhance service design and performance management. The position is based in Budapest, Hungary.

Candidate Requirements:

Master's degree in Management, Business, Economics, International Affairs, or Development

15+ years of relevant experience in strategic planning and project management

Understanding of United Nations Organizations

Fluency in English (oral and written)

Knowledge of another official UN language is an asset

UNICEF seeks to engage a Senior Consultant to conduct a time-bound benefits realisation study of GSSC services and assess benefits of selected existing GSSC services, review new and planned FFI services to assess the credibility, clarity, and measurability of their intended benefits. In addition, the Consultant will identify systemic enablers and blockers to benefits realisation across the GSSC service portfolio and propose a practical Benefits Realisation Framework to be embedded in GSSC service design, governance, and performance management going forward.

UNICEF established the Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC) in 2015 to deliver high-quality, cost-effective, and risk-managed shared services in support of country offices, regional offices, and headquarters.

As part of the organization’s broader transformation agenda, including the Future Focus Initiative (FFI), UNICEF is introducing new and expanded shared service offerings intended to go beyond traditional transactional services and to deliver deeper efficiency, quality, scalability, and strategic benefits. These include services designed to reduce administrative burden in country offices, enable organizational scale economies, strengthen controls, and free up capacity for programme delivery.

The Consultant will work under the overall guidance of GSSC management and in close collaboration with relevant GSSC teams, HQ divisions, and selected country and regional offices.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…  

Minimum requirements:

Education: Completed master’s degree in Management, Business, Economics, International Affairs, Development is required.

Work Experience: 15 or more years of relevant experience is required in organizational strategic planning and operationalization, change management of major initiatives and project management.

Skills : Understanding of the context of United Nations Organizations is required.

Language Requirements Fluency in English (Oral and Written) is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.
