The German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) sponsors the Digital GreenTalents – High Potentials in Sustainable Development Award to harness the vast potential of the digitally-driven era for GreenTech applications. Artificial intelligence precisely sorts valuable raw materials, collection robots remove waste from the environment, or digital twins enable sustainable urban planning: The digital age offers powerful tools like robotics to find solutions to the pressing issues of our time. Once again, we are looking for 20 highly motivated and talented young scientists from around the world who are passionate about doing research on topics where digital technologies and sustainable development meet. The Digital GreenTalents Award promotes the international exchange of innovative ideas and offers a great opportunity for long-term cooperation with the German Digital GreenTech community. What does the Digital GreenTalents Award 2026 include?

• Fully funded research stay in Germany in 2027 (for up to three months)
• SpringSchool in 2027 with workshops, excursions and networking
• Mentoring program
• Becoming part of the Global Digital GreenTalents network What is expected?
• PhD students (or recent graduates) and students in the final year of a Master’s degree
• A strong focus on research topics combining digital technology and sustainability
• Not older than 30 years (time spent on childcare etc. can be considered)
