POSITION: SKIPPER

REPORTING TO : FAS FLEET MANAGER

PURPOSE: To oversee the operation of the fishing vessel, ensuring the safety of the crew, managing the fishing activities, and navigating the vessel to optimal fishing grounds.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

- SAFETY AND COMPLIANCE WITH LEGAL AUTHORITIES

Total compliance with safe manning, all SAMSA, Maritime OSH, Class regulations and requirements. Compliance with Company watch keeping procedures Legal Compliance to Fishing Regulations and Permit conditions

- VESSEL OPERATIONS & EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE

Ensure that all machinery and equipment are maintained and kept in a good working condition to guarantee continuous and effective operations.

- FISHING PERFORMANCE

Ensure care and maintenance of fishing gear and equipment. Ensure that due care is practiced when fishing on hazardous fishing grounds. Ensure that fishing and production targets as defined are met.
