Job description The core responsibilities of the position include:

Statutory accountability (appointed in terms of section GMR2{7} in terms of the OHS act) for Hulamin.

Execution of tasks required for Statutory compliance in terms of the OHS act.

Overseeing the day-to-day mechanical maintenance activities.

Ensuring resources are adequately planned and scheduled.

Managing of breakdowns and ensuring minimum downtime.

Ensure good quality work from direct reports with zero rework.

Planning daily/weekly activities for direct reports.

Managing time and attendance and overtime in the area.

Managing maintenance costs and spares throughout the department.

Managing a workspace with sound 5S principles.

Coaching and mentoring of direct reports.

Identifying training needs and skills requirements for direct reports.

The requirements for the position may include:

A National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a suitable equivalent .

At least 8 years maintenance experience in a large manufacturing environment.

Proficiency in reading drawings.

An active user of the maintenance management system, Maximo or similar (SAP).

Experience in a managerial/supervisory role.

Proactive problem identification and solving skills.

Decisiveness coupled with good planning and organizing skills.

A strong technical aptitude and Industrial Relations knowledge.

Good communication skills.

The ability to interface with people at all levels.
