Job description Reports To Service Delivery Manager Direct Reports 4 Team Leaders / Team Members Job Purpose The Sales Floor Supervisor is responsible for planning, leading, organising, monitoring, and motivating the Sales Floor team to ensure operational excellence and consistent service delivery. The role ensures that all standard operating procedures (SOPs) are followed, service level agreements (SLAs) are met, and quality standards are maintained, while continuously improving processes and team performance.

Key Responsibilities – Operational Management

Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily sales floor operations. Ensure all team leaders and team members are fully trained and compliant with standard operating procedures. Monitor productivity, quality, and service delivery against agreed SLAs and targets. Conduct time studies and process analyses to identify efficiencies and improve output. Troubleshoot operational issues and engage relevant stakeholders to resolve them promptly. Ensure workflow continuity and optimal resource utilisation. Maintain accurate operational records and complete daily administrative tasks and reports.

People Management & Industrial Relations

Lead, motivate, coach, and develop team members to achieve high performance. Manage attendance, discipline, performance management, and employee relations in line with company policies and labour legislation. Promote a positive, professional, and accountable working environment. Support recruitment, onboarding, and training initiatives where required.

Quality Assurance

Monitor work output to ensure consistent quality standards are met. Implement corrective actions when quality deviations occur. Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and attention to detail.

Reporting & Communication

Compile operational and performance reports for management. Provide regular feedback on team performance, challenges, risks, and improvement opportunities. Maintain clear communication across departments and teams to support business objectives.

Leadership & Culture

Lead by example in professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and service excellence. Act as a cultural ambassador by promoting company values and ethical conduct in all interactions.

Required Skills & Competencies

Strong organisational, planning, and coordination skills Excellent problem-solving and decision-making ability Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities under pressure Strong leadership and team management capability High attention to detail and quality orientation Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English essential; additional South African languages advantageous) Computer literacy with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Ability to learn and adapt to in-house and web-based systems Service delivery driven with a customer-focused mindset Flexible and available to work after hours when required

Experience & Qualifications

Industrial Engineering qualification (or equivalent) OR 1–3 years’ experience in a similar supervisory role Experience in an operations environment is essential Experience in the cosmetics or pharmaceutical industry is advantageous Proven leadership and analytical skills Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
