Job Vacancy For English Literature Teacher

Beacon International School is seeking to recruit English Literature Teacher for immediate employment.

Job Description & Key Responsibilities

  • Instructional Delivery: Planning and delivering engaging lessons that cover grammar, composition, and a wide range of literary texts, including prose, poetry, and drama.

  • Curriculum Management: Developing lesson plans that align with specific board standards, such as the Ghana Education Service (GES) or international systems like Cambridge Assessment International Education.

  • Assessment: Preparing, administering, and grading regular assignments, tests, and mock examinations to track student progress and readiness for national or international certification.

  • Literary Exploration: Fostering critical thinking by guiding students through the analysis of themes, literary devices, and historical contexts of various works.

  • Classroom Culture: Maintaining a disciplined and inclusive environment that encourages participation and promotes a passion for reading and writing.

Qualification Required & Experience

  • Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in English, Literature, or Education (B.Ed English) is the standard entry requirement.

  • Many high-tier or international schools, such as ICS Ghana or Legacy Girls' College, prefer candidates with a Master’s degree.

  • Experience in IGCSE / A level will be an added advantage

Skills:

  • Strong command of the English language and proficiency in educational technology.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with students, parents, and faculty.
